Town centre is awash with flowers again

By Cambrian News reporter in Local People

A MEIRIONNYDD town is once again festooned with flowers.

Eldon Square in Dolgellau is currently awash with blossoming flowers due to an ongoing partnership between Life & Work Skills students from the Dolgellau campus of Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor and Dolgellau Town Council.

Students recently supplied the town council with an array of summer flowers and hanging baskets to be displayed in and around Eldon Square.

The students, along with tutor Dylan Jones, worked hard to grow and prepare plants and flowers which hopefully will add “colour and aroma to the town and to the square”.

Gwynedd councillor Linda Morgan (pictured with them), who plays a key role in the floral project, said: “We have developed a fantastic and worthwhile partnership with the college which adds colour and brightness to the town as well as allowing the students to develop their business and vocational skills.

“It also allows the students to play a full and active role within their local community.

“Thank you to everyone who participated.”
